Well working an a little project. Doing a Z06 6 Piston big brake kit on the Escalade. Not sure if most of you seen this done on NBS Silverados. There is a guy named Rudy on the Silverado board that has made a custom bracket for the trucks. Well I don't think I have seen anyone do it on NNBS truck yet. But so far I got the bracktes he makes and test fited on stock spindle and fit perfect. So I will be doign a little write up on how to do this on our trucks. So far I have the brackets, Yellow Z06 6 piston brakes, Pins and pads for the calipers. Last thing I need is to get the Baer 15" front rotors and banjo bolt and crush washers for the brake line. Anyway here are some pics of the parts I have so far

Yeah I got the yellow calipers brand new for 500. Yes you need 15" rotors as others have done it with 14" rotors and the pads do not sit all the way one the rotor. Also our trucks stock have 13" rotors. For the rears there are bracketes avail for them as well. Later this summer I will try that.

Well you can make it cheaper that is the thing. With this you can shop around and find deals. The Wilwood kit with 16" rotors and 6 piston calipers will coast you around 2000. For what I have paid so far and will end up paying I will be right around 1100. You just have to shop and find deals. That is the advantage of doing this. Like I have said in the earlier post. This is a kit you can piece together and not drop 2grand right away. You can make it cheaper if you can find good deals.

Its np. I understand looking at prices. But actually got prices directly from Baer and 15" one piece rotor is 544 for the pair. 272.50 each. For the two piece ones they sell it was 497.50 each.

Ok so test fited them on the Beltech spindles. They don't fit pefect. I have to grind down some of the spindle.. But very little. I actually started to grind one down and really didn't take long before it almost fit but my grinder took a shit. So I got it to basically sit almost flush with the spindle. But I put on the stock rotors and test the caliper and one of my rims.. One issue I might run into is spacing with the rim. I might need to do a spacer on the wheel. But I will find out more once I actually mock it up correctly with correct rotors. But here are some pics

Yeah I am on the fence right now if I am goign to keep doing this or not. I want to line up the Calipers and brackets right and test my wheels again. If I can't fit it I think I am actually going to sell the setup, but I will test my stock wheels so if some one that has a NNBS is interested in them I will let them know if it works or not. Just sucks I kinda like this idea as I was making out a lot cheaper then Wilwoods and also I want Yellow calipers and Wilwoods only make Black and Red standard. Also the Baer rotor are 15" so you are gaining 1" more with the rotors going to Wilwoods But Wilwoods are two piece but a lot more expensive to replace.

Thanks for the part #s, there is a little savings from my account
140-8992-DR @ 1806
140-9789-DR @ 1670

So a $200 savings for a kit that would be 100% bolt on, tech support if I get stuck during the process, and piece of mind....

Thanks for this information.
(wish I knew this before spending $450 on new brakes for the front end (pads/rotors) doh!
Just to let you know Wilwoods you still have to grind down the Spindle to make it fit. So basically both kits are direct bolt ons. But remember with the Z06 kit you can use your stock brake line, Wilwoods you have to buy their braided line.

Also one more thing, I am not saying that this kit is far better then Wilwoods. I have had Wilwoods on my 07 Tahoe and loved them. I am just trying to make some comparisons to it for savings wise. To be honest I just have a bad feeling my offset on my wheels are not going to make the Z06 caliper fit and I already have lined up a guy to by Wilwoods from and paint them yellow as they are black if I cant get this to work. So either go with Wilwoods and spend maybe little more or buy new rims and spend a lot more.
