Its time for me to do a tune up on my car so does anyone have any pointers they could share?? I think I only need to do the plugs and gas filter and air filter. We dont have wires we have the coil packs. Im told those things last up to 200k+.
Any help you can give would be appreciated.

Thanks

I just bought the car a few months ago and it gets HORRIBLE gas mileage. I get about 280-300 at best on a full tank. The car has 113k on it. I think it is running the stock plugs.

Wow, and I baby it. My last cts,( 2004) was amazing. I got 380 miles per tank. Then again it was the small 3.6 and it was only rear. I figured if I changed the plugs and fuel filters it might help along with intake. I just wasn't sure because my 04 you had to replace the intake gasket to get to the plugs. I was wondering.g if u had to with this one too

most of this I can do at home, but what is the cabin filter??

With that mileage, I recommend the following:
- Replace Spark Plugs & Check wires
- Replace hoses & belts & check belt tensioner pulley
- Change air filter
- Change cabin air filter
- Flush radiator
- Change brake fluid
- Change power steering fluid
- Change oil & filter (consider engine flush before dumping oil)
- Change AT fluid & filter (complete change, not just pan)
- Change diff gear lube
- Clean MAF & throttle body

Thanks! I took the motor cover off today and see what I will need to do to change plugs. Not to bad IMO. I think it will be way easier then the 04 I had!

Whats up all, I did the ( service ) to my car yesterday. My neighbor said I was crady. It was 17 degrees out and it took me a little over 1.5 hours but I got it done. The first 10 mins were the hardest, I couldnt figure out how to get the harness off the coil packs/ boot. Once i did it wasnt bad at all. And those things by the was are awesome! Anyways, I used Autolite double plat iridium
plugs and changed the air filter. I have to go into the dealer tuesday for my oil change so Il ask them to install my fuel filter. It got to cold for me to do it.

Anyways, the car has way more power now. Runs way better. When i could drive at 60 MPH my RPM would be at about 2100 in 6th gear. Now it stays st 17\ MAX! way better. Just wanted to share my progress!! Havent changed the cabin filter yet..

Good news all, I did the service as I told you I did and wanted to report I no longer get 281 Miles from my full tank. I ran it down today ( non toll way ) and I got 312. Im very happy with that result. I know I did use the spark plugs that werent recomended in this fourm but I think that it worked out well and I would recomend them if anyone wanted to try a different plug.

Thanks for all the help guys!!
