Not sure if you havent checked the obvious, but does you remote have a dead battery? Mine died last week, cost me about $5.00 for a new battery that i replaced myself.

 

Well.....no. I did think of that, and I am going to try a new one tommarrow. But I thought a dead battery would happen slowly, after a period of time. This thing quit all of a sudden. I will try a new one for sure and see if that cures the problem. Thanks.

 

If that doesn't work, open it op and look for a bad solder joint. I have ahd to repair both of my wifes key fobs. In both cases it was the "C" shaped battery holder that needed resoldering.

 

Thanks. The new battery did not solve the problem. Continue on I guess with the key fob itself.

 

It may be that your transmitter needs to be reset. After X-amount of times pressing the RKE when out of range, that happens.
To reset, get in range of the car and press the trunk button and within one second press the lock button. Hold them both down for about 3 or 4 seconds and it should reset and, hopefully, work.
