Down there is the Oil pressure switch on the 3.2. Is there any oil on that? Is the CEL / Oil light on in the car?

 

No I am not gettin an oil light but my engine light is on but when I pull up the codes there is nothing dealing with oil. An yes there is some oil around the toe oil pressure switch but how is that the cause of it gettin into the air intake.

 

Ok I got the name for the part but the cadillac dealer over here states I need the whole Duct air intake assembly price at $234 an all I need is the rubber boot that goes into the intake because mine ended up getting a hole in it ? Any suggest where I can find that? An we dnt have much wreck cts`s over so I can try get it off.

ah ok i see the problem... that part #24 has been discontinued for a while and the only way to get it now is by purchasing the whole assembly (#20) ...

#20 comes with 12-14, 16-18, 21-25 and 27-29

...

now just to be clear, while this is in the center of the engine bay on the throttle body, #24 is to the passenger side and #27 is to the driver's side. you do want the one that is on the passenger side, right? because #27 is still available

...

so there's basically two choices here
1) go with a used duct piece (if you can find one - i've got my salvage guy looking right now)
2) get a new duct assembly - list price on that part is $532.46 - i could sell it for $393

I would assume you would want to choose option #1

k an would about meetin the oil in the bottom of the air duct is the pvc valve responsible for that it was never changed.

 

so you're saying you've got oil in the bottom of the air duct? (#20) in the illustration I posted?

a stuck open PCV could be the cause (probably most likely) but there are other (more expensive) possibilities

My car is a 2003 3.2L. Mine has a hole on the bottom of it.

Yea in #20 an how do i check to see if it is the pcv valve an when I drive I can hear this very loud vacuum sound so I dnt kno if it suppose to be like that or if it is causing it.

 

now that I think about it i'm not sure if these cars have a replaceable PCV

maybe someone else can chime in as to what normally is replaced when there's a PCV problem

but I can suggest you look at these parts highlighted below and make sure there's no cracks or worn out seals

 

if it's oily inside of those parts then that would lead us down the PCV path... there also was some sort of upgrade available (i think) to those parts

you might want to search around in this sub-forum for more posts related to the PCV system and see what comes up

yeah, that's what i was thinking... the catch can solution is probably the only 'solution' to this problem short of replacing the whole intake and pcv system (which isn't realistically going to happen) and even then you'll still probably wind up in this situation again in 50k miles
